My son is on the spectrum and was 95% non-verbal when he started speech. Today, he speaks his needs and wants, he’s more confident, and he repeats words. We still have work to do, however Ms. Sydney and the downriver speech clinic has been a tremendous blessing to our family!

Amazing! Our son was apprehensive about speech, didn't want to do it "in school" out of fear of being made fun of. Miss Theresa is a NATURAL with kids. She put him at ease and made him feel comfortable right away. I can't speak highly enough about Downriver Speech and the progress he's made, even though we only do a single session per week. Our son looks forward to meeting with her and have never had a single complaint about going. Highly recommended!

We did not have the best experience. The pathologist that worked with us was not very communicative. My daughter is speech delayed and was referred by a neurologist. I was told by the pathologist that she didn't need much as far as intervention but I was continuously asked to explain what my daughter was saying. She did not explain objectives or explain the treatment plan she would be using. They do not clean the toys and do not use face shields like the previous place we went to for therapy, so like clockwork fell ill. This location was closer so I was disappointed when things did not work out. I've returned to our previous facility that's further away.

Downriver Speech Clinic has been such an incredible blessing to our family! Our son has been attending DSC for a full year now and it has been such a wonderful experience! The 1:1 ratio is a valued part of DSC; it has really helped our little man practice, focus, and really be heard when he's attempting new sounds. There used to be many tears cried while trying to help our son speak, but since he's started at Downriver Speech Clinic, those times are few and far between. DSC is caring, family-oriented, excellent communicators, quick to respond if you need anything, and have AMAZING therapists working with the kiddos (we are partial to Mrs. Kelsey)!!! They make a point to get to know your kiddo, understand the situation, and are incredibly patient (especially when you have a little one who doesn't know how to express themselves with words). Some speech clinics are quick to diagnose your child with a label- they play with your heart strings, make you worry, and want your money to "fix" it. DSC is NOT like that. In fact, they have encouraged my husband and I and have helped hold us strong if we have had any fears or worries. We are so happy with how far our little man has come in the last year. He started just before turning 4 years old and is now close to turning 5. He has gone from just saying vowels and grunts, to being able to use the sounds of majority of consonants, knowing how to ask for something he wants/needs, and using sentences! People in our lives talk about how amazing our son has progressed and we are blown away with how many sounds he is now attempting thanks to DSC and Mrs. Kelsey. This place has been a saving grace for our family and we are so grateful to them!
