Buyer beware! This office has some shady practices around payment. This is an in-network provider and my specialist co-pay is $40. I had a visit in January, the start of a new insurance year, and was told that "we checked your insurance and you haven't met your deductible, so we need to charge you $70". I didn't think that was what I was supposed to pay but since they said they checked my insurance I paid it. I meant to check with my insurance and then forgot. I went back in March and was told the same thing. When I got home I double checked my policy and found that my co-pay is $40. I called EB Podiatry and was told that because they are a private practice their policies are different and since my deductible hadn't been met it was $70. I said that my deductible didn't affect them and the receptionist told me they'd paid my insurance $70. I called my insurance who confirmed that my co-pay should be only $40 and that the doctor's office doesn't send any money to the insurance company. The insurance agent offered to call the office while I waited on hold. She came back and said the office had told her the same thing and that I'd need to take it up with them because they hadn't paid the insurance company anything. I called EB Podiatry back and again talked to the receptionist who told me the same thing. I asked for her supervisor and was told she was out for the rest of the week and she'd be back Monday. I called Monday and was told the supervisor was out sick. I called Wednesday at 11am and was told she had just stepped out for 10 minutes but could call me back, so I left my name and number. I didn't hear back so called again around 2:30 and was told she was gone for the day but had received my message. I again expressed my frustration with the situation and was told the same thing by the receptionist - we are a private practice, our policy is to charge $70 if the deductible isn't met, etc. The supervisor finally returned my call Thursday morning and said "we checked with your insurance and they aren't charging the $30 fee for not having met your deductible so we owe you $60 for the 2 visits". That's a bunch of BS. There is no "fee for not having met the deductible" and my insurance company had called them the week prior and told them I didn't owe anything. It took a LOT of follow up for me to get them to admit they owed me this refund and I imagine a lot of people just assume what they are telling them is true and they just take the extra $30. Had there been some sort of mistake, some sort of effort to explain why they had done this, or any sort of apology, I might not be leaving this review. But neither the supervisor nor the receptionist (who I had to talk to again to get the refund to my credit card) offered any apology or acknowledgement. Really shady business and I won't be back!

I recently had Dr Jen Strauser take care of an ingrown toe nail for me. I have dealt with this problem off and on for years. Incredible pain at times.. I really like the way Dr Jen goes about her business. She had me out of there in less than an hour and gave me her cell no. to check in with her if there were any problems. Great experience!!
