I had 2 seizures within 12 hours, so we decided to get them checked up on because I have never had a seizure before. The receptionist was the ONLY kind, understanding, and listening person who was there. The doctor, however, did not even examine me. She came into the room, told me I had a "panic attack", was visually angry that I did not want to take anxiety meds (for the so-called panic attack), and left. The worst team of medical staff I have ever seen and experienced. Do NOT go here if you have a medical emergency.

I've had to go to the ER a few times since I've lived here. Each time the wait to see a doctor is ridiculous. Then if they run tests, you will be there hours! I'm having a hard time believing they are always that busy. Especially when you see nurses and doctors gathered around the desk joking around, laughing. Waited and waited just to be released to. I pray I don't have to come back there!

My son is very autistic and needed tests to be done in order to find out why he was sick. The staff did a wonderful job helping us as our son does not tolerate hospital visits and needed special care to have blood and swabs taken. Given how terribly busy it was, our time there was much faster than I anticipated. One nurse even gave our son a toy car to ease his discomfort. Everyone treated him with such care and understanding. I am so happy they were able to help us figure out what was wrong with our son.

im a teenaged mom with a beautiful 9 month old baby. i have brought my daughter in multiple times for various issues and i get dismissed every time due to my age. i know this because i get told that im too young and that everything is fine. i find this rude, unprofessional, and downright mean. my age should not be a factor in the care that my daughter receives or my ability to have a maternal instinct that something is wrong with my daughter. i brought her in to the brainerd location ER because she had been pulling at her ears and had this horrible diaper infection that was blistering and was running fevers. they looked at her diaper rash and said it was normal and then looked at her ears and said they were fine and sent us home with no real answers. fast forward to the next 24 hours, where my daughter started running really high fevers and the blistering on her butt got worse. a week into this she starts running 104 temps so i bring her in to lakewood ER in staples where they take a look at her butt and her ears and determine that she has a SEVERE yeast infection, not a diaper rash. and because of the lack of care and compassion your doctor showed us she now has a middle ear infection that is significant. i find this to be incredibly disheartening that my poor 9 month old daughter had to be in such severe pain because YOUR doctors couldnt be bothered to do a thorough check up and run labs which also showed her white blood sell count was elevated. i will NEVER bring my daughter back to a place that gives horseshit service and lacks empathy simply because i had a child very young. congratulations for prolonging my daughters pain. if i could give this place a zero star review, i would.

I went in for an outpatient procedure and it couldn't have been a more pleasant experience. From Surgeon Dr. Duininck, Anesthesiologist Dr. McGlinch, Radiogist Dr. Kroll, SDS Nurse Paige, OR Nurse Dylan, and Ultrasound Tech Katie, I was treated with respect. Everone excelled in showing care, compassion and concern about my well-being. I have had many surgical procedures, and this was the first time that the anesthesiologist visited with me before AND after the procedure. I wouldn't hesitate to have another surgical procedure at St. Joseph's.

Worst hospital I’ve been to in the US. I’ve been to hospitals in many states, from Florida, to New Hampshire, to South Dakota and even more, this hospital in Brainerd is by far the worst I’ve ever been to. Nurses talking instead of doing their jobs which I’m sure is why you wait two hours before even getting a diagnosis. This place truly is the worst place I’ve been to, doctors give you indirect answers, no one even checks their patient log so they have no idea what the patient can and can’t take until they say it. Terrible place would never recommend. Also if you’re baby needs a NICU, have fun being an hour away because this place doesn’t have it.

Absolute worst company I’ve ever had to deal with. I’ve been trying to get financial assistance for almost a year now. I thought I had insurance when I came in and gave them my insurance card and no one told me I didn’t have insurance, if I knew it hadn’t kicked in yet I would have walked out and left. Not only am I dealing with a $600 bill for the doctor to look in my ears once and say nope there’s no hole. He said he would refer me to a different doctor, well he never actually sent a referral so I was also dealing with another $500 bill and then another $500 bill for a hearing test all because the doctor never sent a referral. I’ve applied for financial assistance multiple times and I keep getting denied, no reason why. Because I am currently unemployed with no insurance I am unable to pay this bill and it takes days to try and get ahold of anybody. My bill has now been sent to collections:)
