Thank goodness I found Irvine Acupuncture and Dr. Reza Tafazoli, "Rey"!!
I was stuck in a pain spiral...my lower back and SI joint was so bad, I could not plan on doing much of anything. I couldn't even lay on my stomach to have treatment. It was very stressful, but Rey was so calming and intuitive...on my first visit he helped me to relax and breathe so I could benefit from the acupuncture. Rey even found a way to treat my lower back while sitting up. He is great at using different techniques to provide a combination of treatments at once, which I think made all the difference in my outcome.
I highly recommend Irvine Acupuncture and suggest that patients explore all of the options they have to offer there! Thanks Nick and Rey!!!!

I've tried many many acupuncture places in Orange County (mostly Costa Mesa and Newport Beach areas). Overall, Dr.Reza Tafazoli has been my go to for the last several years.

I've had lots of muscle pain and nerve issues like Neck and Back Tightness, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, TOS surgery, and mild sciatica.

In All cases, the Dr Has been the overall best at treating these.

He offers various modalities including Acupuncture, ANS (electric stim for muscles/joints), cupping, and even Scar Tissue Therapy (mostly for post-op surgery healing).

Since I'm covered by insurance I generally get 50 minute sessions with as many modalities as I can, sometimes I go over 50 minute sessions if the Dr thinks I need the extra treament (many times I do).

But mostly importantly the Dr actually LISTENS and focuses on the areas I request in detail. Some acupuncture places basically ignore your "intake form" and do what they think is best, or might limit what they work on in a session.

On a minor note, he only has 1 other coworker: Nick, the guy who helps with scheduling, payment, and insurance benefits and negotiating. He's consistently been one of the most helpful front desk office guys I've worked with, making sure to stay communicative has he learns about how my insurance works with acupuncture and the different modalities.

I've been to three different acupuncturist, and by far he is the best, smart & honest.

I've been going there for about 5 weeks, 2 x per week. And it's helped me. Today doctor suggested I may only need 1 session per week. Usually they try to get you but he is honest and mentioned this. Well deserved review and I would highly recommend him.

Rey's demeanor is very professional as well as knowledgeable. I felt right away at ease speaking with him, and I appreciated his honesty in answering my questions. I never felt rushed nor ignored during any of my appointments.

I will admit that I am not the ideal patient, especially since I have an issue with arriving late or even forgetting my appointment due to my busy work schedule. Rey has been very patient, understanding, and flexible with my situation.

I'm from out-of-the-area and am spending the summer in Irvine. I've had chronic upper back pain for 30 years. About 11 years ago my pain disappeared after 3-4 months of acupuncture and cupping. Now I live in the Midwest and don't get acupuncture on a regular or even semi-regular basis. As a result, my back pain has crept back into my life. Being that I am in Irvine for the summer, I decided to start acupuncture again. But this time i only have 7 weeks for treatment.

Based on the numerous excellent reviews on both google and yelp, I opted to try Irvine Acupuncture. I am glad I did. Ray is excellent. He has excellent techniques. He truly cares about each patient. He is professional, personable, polite and punctual. His office is clean and organized. I've been coming for 6 wks (2x/wk) now and my upper back pain is so much better. The pain is almost gone and my range of motion has improved. Ray implements many various techniques - some techniques i never experienced before. So I am excited to experience each session with Ray. I'm already sad that i'm leaving Irvine next week to go back to the Midwest. But I am happy I feel so much better.

Bottom line: if you have pain, stress/anxiety, headaches, or just want a tune-up....come to Irvine Acupuncture. You'll be happy you did.

Came in for a pain I been having in my neck. Reza has been treating my neck and back by cupping followed with acupuncture. He has also provided me with some exercises to do at home. Ever since I have been going to him my pain has gone down. My posture has been improving. My stress levels have gone down. I am overall more relaxed. I am becoming more knowledgeable about my own body. I also love the relaxing music that’s played during the sessions and the overall feel of the place.

This place was amazing! I visited with Ray on my first visit and explained where my pain was. I had pain for over a year in my left hamstring from a Taekwondo black belt injury over a year ago and I was not able to get rid of it. I met with Rey for probably 8-10 visits in which he was able to able to completely rid me of this frustrating pain! I also explained I had some moderate stress level and some mild anger issues. Rey was amazing with my injury visits and he was able to target these stress and anger challenges I was having and I am happy to say I am now an an entirely different person. Rey and his practice are a must go to for probably every ale meant you have. Rey's bed side manner are very comforting and extremely easy to talk to. I have been taking vitamins that he recommended which have really paid off in my health and how I feel. I also have a very busy travel work schedule which I am sometimes late and even have to reschedule from time to time. Rey has been very accommodating and understanding thank you Rey for everything!!!
