As Massage Therapist, the requirements of the class were very clearly noted from the CPR instructor prior to the start of class. There was a very disruptive student who could’ve gotten her stuff in order prior to coming to the class rather than spending over two hours arguing with the teacher of what she needed and wasting the rest of our time (in addition to showing up to class late in the beginning) when we were there and accepted the fact that we did need child and infant CPR included for our certification. As being 20 weeks pregnant, there was also accommodations made which I greatly appreciated, this disruptive student also tried to use the accommodations that were made for me because she chose to come in inappropriately dressed, wearing a dress instead of comfy clothes as the class request when you sign up. Gabe did a great job was very informative. I appreciate him takes his job there seriously and follows the guides and directions of the American Heart Association appropriately as he is to as the teacher, and that includes how we as students use our voice and the importance of doing so during the counting of doing CPR for the chest compressions.

I needed to take CPR again for my massage license renewal and I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. Our teacher was engaging and kept the pace of the class moving along. I’ve taken about 4 CPR classes in my life and this was by far my favorite. Highly recommended!

Staff is not up to date on CPR considering CE units for Massage. Class is run like a military base camp. Guy who ran the class was sick with cancer and shouldn’t have been running the course because he was grouchy and on edge. I asked questions about requirements and got told I was I was a distraction to the class. I got asked to leave after I stood up for myself after being yelled at for not using my voice loud enough in counting the breaths for CPR training. No respect for women. They refused to get me my money back when they said they would. Now I have to go to board of directors. Wouldn’t go here. 0/10 recommend. Contact someone who’s personally certified and take their course instead.

CPR class with Gabe was awesome. He's a real deal teacher, keeping the class engaged with the training. Gabe's passion for being prepared to jump in and help save someone's life shines through the entire duration of the class! I left Island CPR inspired, informed and most importantly effectively trained. By far the best, most effective AHA class I've ever been to! Mahalo Gabe, you're a gem!

I really enjoyed the class, beyond it being required of me. Not all CPR teachers have the right mixture figured out, but Gabriel deserves a gold medal for engagement with his class while making the time zip by!

Island CPR, help me get ready for the Medical Assistant course and the NHA exam. First of all, l I want to thank Kara for being very patient with numerous calls with many questions. Never once did she make me feel like I was bothering her or wasting her time, she took the time to explain everything to me in detail and what to expect. It literally took me over 6 months to finally commit and start the Self-Pace class. In between of getting overwhelmed and wanting to quit, Kara continue to push me to finish and acknowledge that what I am feeling is normal and many want to and have quit the course. Annie, on the other hand I felt like I was always bothering her to a point I didn't want to call or email hoping I would NOT get her which I did. Whenever I asked her a question, there was always a LONG pause before she answered which made me feel VERY uncomfortable and like I was wasting her time. NEVER a word of support just the feeling of hurry up and get off the phone so she could go on her merry way. If I was to quit it would have been due to how she was treating me but thank goodness Kara gave a lot of support during my many times of meltdown. I feel we as students need support not made felt like we are pain and a bother like how Annie made me feel each and every time. Lastly, I would personally want to THANK my teacher Naomi. Naomi is a one of a kind. When I first met her on Lab 1, she makes you feel like you were not alone. Told me she will be there to help answer any questions, if she could not answer she would find it out and let me know. Not ONCE did she ever make me feel like I was a bother. Naomi was patient, told me what to expect and not to give up. NEVER made me feel like I was wasting her time. If you ever decide to this MA course be sure to take the class with Naomi as your teacher and no-one else. You will not regret it. I took the NHA exam about a month later and passed. It was not easy for me but I am so grateful for Naomi for all her support. Naomi supported me up to the day of the test with her positive smile and thumbs up before the test. That's why I have been referring others to take the MA course with Naomi. Island CPR should recognize Naomi for all she does to help all the students that go through the course. Sincerely Grateful to Naomi~~Also, I have a question regarding our certificate that we receive at the end of the course. Why is it that Naomi isn't one of the signatures on the certificate? She is the one that gave us support and helped us during Lab 1-3. Annie was not helpful or supportive while contacting her. I have heard many complaints about Annie while they also took the course. BTW: the 5 star is for Kara and Naomi!

Excellent experience. I just finished a Lifeguard course with Kara and her team and have nothing but excellent things to say. Professional and thorough throughout the class without being overbearing and boring. Let's face it..these classes can be boring but Island CPR kept it moving and as fresh as it can be. They made it an enjoyable experience. I definitely HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company for your educational needs
