**Neurological Pain in Jaw**
I’ve been working with Carol Cote at North Jersey Physical Therapy Associates for several months. I’ve had complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS/RSD) for about nine years, which is essentially a nervous and immune system malfunction with never-ending pain signals and inflammation.

The clinic is a bit of a drive for us, but it’s honestly worth it. The staff is professional, knowledgeable, and kind. With a rare disease, I was super impressed by Carol’s knowledge of CRPS. She utilizes non-traditional, hands-on methods like craniosacral therapy and myofascial release alongside physical therapy exercises. I feel like I’m in the right place for my severe neurological issues in my mouth and jaw.

Carol is an absolute angel. She truly cares about her patients. She is more of a full-body healer than a typical physical therapist. I wish all PTs were this hands on and thorough with their patients. She understands the nature of the chronic pain her patients suffer with.

For the first time in my disabled life, I actually feel like I’m getting somewhere. My time at physical therapy is just one part of the plan. I used to depend on my PT visits for progress, but here, the visit is the foundation and the rest is up to me.

I’ve had to change my entire way of existing. I was breathing incorrectly, my posture was abysmal, and the fear of movement and hurting my CRPS further had me barely chewing and speaking.

I’ve improved my breathing, posture, and increased my activity and I stretch so much more. I try to fight the fear of CRPS, which is a disease that wants you to fail, give up and atrophy. I can now chew food and talk to my loved ones. I’m still working on how long I can do these things. Carol has a gentle encouragement about her that has kept me going and fighting.

I had my appointment with Kim. Kim gave me exercises to do at home that have helped my lower back immensely.
I had another appointment with Carol Cote. Carol helped me understand how to activate my muscles that I wanted to strengthen during exercises. I'm extremely grateful for the help offered to me at this clinic
