I’m a student who has just finished the anatomy and physiology portion of the course. This school has changed my life for the better in so many ways! It’s the best massage school I could have asked for! The instructors are so knowledgeable and compassionate, and the material is presented in such a way that anyone can learn it. The Tai Chi, QiGong, and the traditional Chinese 5 element perspective truly makes this school stand out from amongst the best in the country.

If I could give less than 1 star I would I am never going here again. I got hustled and taken advantage of. Do NOT go here. If you do, do not get a massage with Vivian no matter how much the receptionist tries to convince you. I'm sorry. She was nice but the massage was absolutely awful. I spent over $100 for an hour for no reason at all my back still hurts and she did not even try to work out my knots. I'm still in pain.
I got a student massage here before which was better, and cheaper, but the receptionist convinced me to get a massage with a "professional" instead. I was ripped off!!! I may try again if they offer me a discount because of the wasted money I spent.
I work in a physically demanding job on my feet for 9 hours or more a day, which I informed her about, and she barely massaged my legs, which I requested for her to pay attention to, and didn't even touch my feet. Terrible service.

Do not go here for a massage. I had the worst massage of my life here and I paid $70 for a 90 minute session. They wanted me to reschedule with someone else so I did, called to cancel later on before my appointment but the guy wanted me to reschedule (probably because they had me prepay and he didn’t want to do a refund). I ended up not going because I forgot to put it in my calendar. (My fault) Nicole (front desk?) called me the morning of my no show (just a few minutes ago) and was so rude. Every time I have ever called and spoken to the female receptionist she is rude, impatient and seems annoyed of customers. I’m not sure why you signed up for that job if you don’t like speaking to people or serving them. She called me and said she was calling about my 11 appointment. I let her know that I forgot about the appointment and I apologize. She said in a very rude manner “So you’re not coming?” I said no and she said “okay bye”.

Here‘a a free tip for you Nicole, you could rephrase by saying something like this “Oh I’m so sorry to hear that. Our cancellation policy states that we cannot provide refunds if you no show your appointment. Would you like to schedule for a future appointment? No? Okay well we hope to see you again in the future. Have a good day.”

The male is wonderful, kind and calm but I’ll never go here again. Alaska Career College has better massage for $25 for an hour.

Also I am reading below and it sounds as if this place is pretty inconsistent with their policies. They gave someone else a discount for a bad experience but I’m out $140 for horrible service and someone just rubbing lotion on my skin for 90 minutes. Wow.

I love this place! I am currently attending school at the center and just about completed anatomy and physiology classes... It has been a great experience, I have learned so much from the teachers and have enjoyed the integration of Thai chi, and yoga as well as qigongs all of which have been very beneficial to my physical being. Leanne the physiology teacher, is awesome, she is a caring teacher and really goes the extra mile to accommodate and assist students with the learning process. Joan the anatomy teacher has an incredible knowledge of the subject and is also very concerned with students getting the information they need. Michele and Brittany are the soul of the massage instruction process, I have learned so much from them, they are patient caring women and impart a wealth of knowledge and wisdom, next semester I start Oriental medicine portion of the program and can not wait! I recommend this school to anyone wanting an exceptional experience on their journey to become a massage therapist!

Kristi gives the very best massages. I always feel like she's invested in my health which is important to me because I deal with chronic pain and she has been a vital part of dealing with my auto immune disease. I have had many massages and massage therapists and I would reccomend her with flying colors. The entire staff is friendly and helpful. They offer many services and I'm so glad to have them in the Spenard neighborhood.

This was my first massage experience and it was awful. My professional massage therapist was incredibly nice, but terrible at her job. I hardly felt that she was there even after repeatedly requesting that she press harder. I went in to try to get some relief from stress and chronic back pain (why I had to leave my old job). I left with the exact same issues along with a headache from the horrible cloying smells in the building. Will not be going back, and I'm horrified that so many people have given them 5 stars. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!

The best massage school in Alaska! Students are very well trained in many different modalities of massage and Oriental healing arts. I was so impressed with the school, I chose to work there when I became a professional. Highly recommend OHAC for educational classes or a great massage!

Went for an hour couples massage. Everyone we met was super sweet. Before we got started the masseuse consulted to see where I needed tlc & this was one of very few places that can apply a LOT of pressure. I had huge knots and tension in my shoulders and left feeling so relaxed and happy. Props!!
