I hired Julie about 8 months ago to help with unexplained health issues that were arising for me. Chronic fatigue, bloating (despite a healthy diet), skin issues, and overall just not my best. I had seen multiple doctors to run labs to see what could be going on and everyone came back with the same answer.. "your bloodwork is normal, you're totally fine!". However, I knew I had a shift within me that I couldn't put my finger on and I didn't feel myself. Within 1 week of my first appointment with Julie I felt an immediate shift in energy levels with the initial supplements she put me on while we waited for my blood work and other tests to come back. Dr. Julie has been treating me for a few years now. She is an acupuncturist that combines functional medicine with her treatments. My previous acupuncturist also combine functional medicine and I wasn't sure if anyone could replace her. I was worried that the switch from one acupuncturist to another would result in a decline in my health. But my experience has been solid and my health is still going strong. I have hashimotos as well as other health issues. She goes through labwork with me and provides supplements, recommendations for diet and herbs when i'm sick. Acupuncture has treated ailments that no doctor has helped me solve. In April of 2021 I was diagnosed with Graves' disease and was immediately put on thyroid-blocking medication and told that I would eventually have to choose between having my thyroid destroyed by radioactive iodine or getting it removed surgically. I didn't like either of those options or what they could mean for me and my quality of life in the long-term, so I continued researching autoimmune conditions on my own to gain a better understanding of what was really happening inside my body. It was a while before I made the decision to seek out a practitioner who could guide me in my natural healing journey but I found Julie earlier this year and I am so happy I did. She ran an extensive hormone test, including a full thyroid panel, something which my own endocrinologist had never done, as well as gut/stool tests and discovered that I had a severe gut flora imbalance, something that i had long suspected but had never been able to quite confirm or look into since no one had ever explained to me that autoimmune diseases tend to be gut-related. After a few months of seeing Julie and implementing her advice on nutrition and lifestyle changes, many of the physical symptoms of Graves that I've been experiencing for years have greatly reduced if not altogether disappeared. My thyroid markers including TSH have all moved up into a normal range, something which my endocrinologist said would never be possible without radiation or surgery.
